We're excited to bring you the first edition of the year as we officially step into 2025, closing the book on our first year of analysing the Bitcoin job market.
This year is off to a great start! We launched our first annual report—check it out here if you haven’t seen it yet. How many Bitcoin Jobs were there in January 2025?
We tracked 200 total job postings, of which 40% are Bitcoin-only. This new category highlights companies committed solely to Bitcoin - watch for the orange segments in our charts to easily identify these opportunities. This is part of our ongoing effort to provide clarity and help job seekers align with their values.
How Has the Bitcoin Job Market Evolved Over the Last Year?
In January 2025, the Bitcoin job market saw a +17% Year over Year growth, reflecting a healthy increase compared to January 2024. Even though the total number of jobs decreased slightly in December due various factors like holidays, a clear upward trend emerged starting in September, showcasing a resilient and growing demand for Bitcoin-related talent.

Starting this report, we will focus only on current-month data to provide more relevant insights for your job search. Remember, orange means Bitcoin-only, and it's your shortcut to discovering roles aligned with Bitcoin’s core principles.
An interesting trend emerges when we examine mid-sized and smaller companies: the smaller the company, the more likely it is to focus exclusively on Bitcoin.

How many Bitcoin jobs are remote?
Approximately 50% of remote roles came from Bitcoin-only companies, while only 1 in 3 on-site and hybrid roles were Bitcoin-only. These numbers confirm that Bitcoin-only companies tend to favor hiring talent remotely, aligning with Bitcoin’s ethos of freedom.
Our interactive map shows the geographic distribution of these opportunities, helping job seekers pinpoint hotspots and recruiters plan region-specific strategies.
Do you have to be a Developer to work in Bitcoin?
Once again - No! In January, 80% of the roles were non-developer positions, proving there are plenty of opportunities beyond coding. Bitcoin companies are on the lookout for a wide range of skills, from marketing to operations and beyond.
What roles have been in demand?
In January, we saw 5 Senior Software Engineer roles, with 2 from Bitcoin-only companies, and the same goes for Product Manager roles. Once again, orange is your guide to Bitcoin-only opportunities.
